Whether you're a seasoned sewer or a beginner looking to expand your skills, this class will guide you step by step through the process of creating your unique Athena Crossbody.

What You'll Learn:

In this class, you'll learn to create a bag that's both beautiful and functional, perfect for every day or a special outing. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Bag Construction: You’ll be taught how to cut, piece, and sew all the components of the bag, from the exterior to the interior.
  • Zipper Installation: Master the art of installing a zipper with ease to give your bag that polished look.
  • Crossbody Strap: Learn how to make the adjustable crossbody strap, giving your bag a versatile and comfortable fit.
  • Customization: Choose your fabrics, mix and match patterns, and personalize your bag to make it uniquely yours!

Required Materials:

  • See Pattern for Specifics
  • Soft & Stable OR Pellon Double Sided Fusible FF79F2
  • Pins or Wonderclips
  • Polyester Thread
  • Top Stitch OR Jeans Needle 90/14

Requirements to be Completed PRIOR to Class:

  • Have all accent fabric cut to pattern
  • Sandwich main fabric and lining to Soft & Stable


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Confident Beginner - can sew two pieces of fabric together, can follow pattern directions with assistance, and can measure and cut fabric with a rotary cutter with assistance, can sew a straight line with an accurate 1/4 inch seam, has taken previous quilting classes (in person or on-line), has completed one or more quilt tops on their own or with limited assistance, and knows how to press and nest seams correctly.
Requirements: 1.) Have all accent fabric cut to pattern specifications on page 1 of pattern completed. 2.) Sandwich main fabric and lining to soft & stable.
